Waiting with The One And Only Jesus: Daily Devotional {365 Days of Devotions – 2018}

The text of Psalm 40 suggests there is a right way and a not so right way to wait for the Lord. Or at least patiently is how David described himself.

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. … Psalm 40 1-3 KJV

Waiting with The One And Only Jesus: Daily Devotional {365 Days of Devotions – 2018}

Toward the end of publishing The One And Only Jesus, I felt a tug inside my heart to publish a companion product titled Walking with the One And Only Jesus, and so we did.

And, as I was putting that little project to bed and to press, I felt another tug whispering waiting.

I really feel like I am the unofficial queen of waiting. I’ve even coined my own catchphrase …

“The Wait is a necessary passage”

… is my go-to phrase when folks are deep in difficult travels.

So, here we are at the beginning of a new year, waiting for the return of the one and only Jesus. And due to the current climate of our culture, many are convinced we may not be waiting long.

But, thankfully, only The Good Lord knows the hour of the return of His one and only son, Jesus.

Psalm 27:14 says for us to: Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
